Hi Julian, some pictures on the Mike Morant site. https://mikemorant.smugmug.com/Trains-Railways-British-Isles/SR-and-BRS/SR-2-6-0s-0-6-0s/i-zphGXcm/A

You may be right about Tonbridge but I suspect not :D. All the best Adrian.

The Medway goes right through the middle of Tonbridge. Not to be confused with Tunbridge Wells. Tonbridge is by far the older town but I’m not sure of the origins of the name.

That looks like an Austerity Q1, were they allowed on pretty coach duties?

Was it actually a bridge that was created to carry a Ton?

Regards

Julian

There are plenty of photos available of Q1s on passenger work. often on secondary lines, but also on ECS workings at major stations such as Waterloo,

Not sure if these may have featured before but I found them whilst going back through some photos on the iPad. Just a few random shots of Midland in Bristol, in no particular order.6E588E29-77A6-434F-9FA6-62D68F2B4222.jpeg.ef542f1b3ec9884d4044757ae76d492a.jpegA7CB9C77-5D34-4849-B703-0DD6D6744FFC.jpeg.8859ee09f93e3f3f68ef03afb17b9f6a.jpeg4FC180DE-2210-4EBD-B6FB-6E96C6A0EC37.jpeg.1e8f80dbd2da4f0a2b5a219815e88303.jpegBC43B30A-73CA-446E-9D6D-9E1713120F74.jpeg.fff373c576e85a2f6732eb888bdc0d31.jpegFF3C0744-8B78-4D25-A1D2-4A96F98A717F.jpeg.13f013e24abaea89e741badde7016d18.jpeg69C039D5-FB1F-4E52-A67F-0D9ED0A50F41.jpeg.2029e811cfe87c28df9389afb40b9371.jpeg

Another wonderful image- the eye is drawn to one of the most perceived (wrongly) least interesting and mundane items of railway rolling stock, but it eclipses the other vehicles that would normally take centre stage!

8F 48073 simmering away after long run hauling freight, waiting to be moved into the sheds for the night.

The driver is inspecting the insides of the smokebox, whilst puffing away on his pipe and the fireman has got an e-cig going whilst wondering how the scrap metal thieves got in and nicked the bottom half of the firebox.

The original motor wasn’t working (actually it was smoking) so I removed it in hope that I could build a new one.
