RMweb Premium Nig H Posted January 21, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 21, 2013 Would it be possible to post some photos of the more extreme cases? Cheers, Rhys. Hello Rhys, Here are some photos of a Pacific and a Rebuilt Royal Scot chassis. I think all my Stanier tenders are like those shown as I use Faulhaber 1219s in them and that is as far back as they will go. I think it would be extremely difficult to get the front of the drive shaft in front of the rear driving wheel in the Pacific, and hard to insert it into the front housing too. Hope this helps. Guest Natalie Graham
I think the only situation where driving the locomotive and tender simultaneously might be useful is for a single wheeler to get it out of trouble if the driving wheel falls down a hole in the track Or, if you are modelling the GNR, Sturrock's 0-6-0s with the steam tenders.
