w124bob
Don't forget that the curve didn't exist until the the chord was put in towards the new Salford Cresent station and a scrapyard existed on the downside, pretty sure there's several photos on the net of diverted WC services from the era. Drove over this site for nearly 2 decades and there never was a checkrail.
G-BOAF
Seems like 47500 has been scrapped, based on these pictures of the cabs alone from October 2019
woodenhead
Not surprising really, they have plenty to choose from and now they have a couple of what appear to be excellent condition cabs.

RMweb Gold TravisM Posted November 11, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2019 I was talking to a WCRC driver awhile ago about 47500 and from what he told me, the damage was catastrophic, not just outside but internally as well. When the insurers turned up, they just took one look and wrote the cheque but on the understanding that 47500 was scrapped. Like I said, that’s what I was told and with insurers wrangling between themselves, no wonder it lasted so long before the gas axe appeared.

I've lost track of what's still sort of intact at Carnforth. Edited November 12, 2019 by brushman47544
