RailWest
There has long been debate in some quarters about the fact that, in its present incarnation, 7F loco 53808 is painted in the S&DJR Prussian Blue livery, even tho' such a livery was never carried by that class before the preservation era. So I wonder what comments will arise now that 'Kilmersdon' - which was never even a S&DJR loco at all - is being out-shopped at Washford in the full glory of Prussian Blue, complete with lining and crest? See http://www.sdrt.org/news/article.php?article=128 Whatever the 'purist' view, personally I think that, put together with Coach 4 and shining in the sunlight, it will look quite splendid :-)
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted February 15, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 15, 2013 Whilst it's always nice to see industrials in a 'traditional' industrial livery, such as various shades of green, I can't get too excited about it not being 'authentic'. In fact, it looks very nice indeed.
Stephen Lacey (92245)
Indeed, I think the blue suits the loco well. Would be a very nice sight to see her with a rake of three SDJR coaches also in prussian blue pulling away from Midsomer Norton in a few years time. Cheers, Stephen
