woodenhead
A little saddened that only 25 comments on this thread compared to the 6 pages on 00 thread, but maybe it still represents the ratio of 2mm to 4mm modellers. We need more people buying these excellent models to ensure a good pipeline of future models!
Armchair Modeller
I was hoping they would announce the Cravens DMU, but no luck - hopefully next year? Nice to see the 150 is not dead though - an FGW livery version is long overdue.

Tricky-CRS
"90° 6 Pin DCC Decoder with back EMF (DC Compatible)" I'm wondering where this new decoder will be required. GWR 64xx I would suggest
Gloucester Road
I agree with David; a nice DRS hauled nuclear train is in the future.
MacRat
GWR 64xx I would suggest Aah, yes, it's in the text. Thanks.
bridgiesimon
I am personally delighted with the list although I am not sure my wife would have the same opinion!! Lots of stuff for 'Polpendra' 64xx and the N class - WAHAY! been asking for that one for years, alway told no way forget it, will never happen. BR autocoach, Hawksworth stock, new wagons, LMS brake van! As for the modern stuff, the DRS 37 sounds most excellent as does the class 57s but I wish they would develop a delner coupling for them!! Best wishes Simon
RMweb Gold TomE Posted March 10, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 10, 2013 There are some photos of various forthcoming Farish releases here, including the J39, Duchess, Deltic and the Fairburn tank!http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151359966658207.1073741825.176420418206&type=1To quote the Toy Story Aliens...."ooooooooooooo"Tom. leachsprite4
Brilliant set of products so many new steam engines, including royal scot in fake crimson! The n and 64xx very welcome and a castle although shame Dapol didn't get there first (I know they might yet with Bachmann rate of production!). Karhedron
Totally delighted by these announcements. The GWR have been rather neglected by Farish but now we have an embarrassment of riches! Castle, Hawksworth coaches, 6400 pannier and BR autocoaches (Thrush and Wren anyone)? I must admit, I had rather expected to see the Castle and Hawksworths from Dapol but I am delighted to see Farish finally renewing their membership of the copper-cap brigade. I had better start saving!
Karhedron
I am wondering how well the auto coaches will sell given that the Dapol model will have taken a lot of the market for this (unless the Bachmann ones are to a different dia) I can see why they are doing them given that they are doing the 64xx though. They are indeed a different diagram to the Dapol ones. Also the Dapol ones are not entirely accurate being a hybrid of 2 different diagrams. The Farish one is the later "Hawksworth" style with flush front and sides and sliding window vents. My hunch is the Bachmann ones will sell well enough (I will get a couple for starters ).
RMweb Premium njee20 Posted March 10, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2013 Would like to have seen the Windhoff MPV scaled down, but a DRS nuclear flask train will be excellent!
davebem
Shame theres no more class 20s, but retooled class 25s and new mk2s more than make up for it.
Steadfast
As for the modern stuff, the DRS 37 sounds most excellent as does the class 57s but I wish they would develop a delner coupling for them!! Best wishes Simon Presumably since both the DRS and NR prototypes feature Dellners, this modified tooling will be produced now. I do recall Bachmann saying if more liveries appear on the 57s ( at the time only Virgin and Arriva ) it'd make this modification more viable to tool up jo

RMweb Premium Kris Posted March 10, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2013 They are indeed a different diagram to the Dapol ones. Also the Dapol ones are not entirely accurate being a hybrid of 2 different diagrams. The Farish one is the later "Hawksworth" style with flush front and sides and sliding window vents. My hunch is the Bachmann ones will sell well enough (I will get a couple for starters ). That's promising then. I will most likely be in the market for a few at some point along with the other GWR goodies. I wonder just how long it will take for all of these items to show their faces. Given the length of the list, I hope that Farish have not done a Dapol and announced more than they can reasonable produce in the promised timescales. woodenhead
I think you'll find there are pages and pages of comments on a specialist N gauge forum If you mean a certain 'N Gauge Forum' then it's 50 posts (since the announcement) versus 42 on here and as there are people who post on both forums (nothing wrong in that) then I'd say they are pretty much even stevens. I do pop over to the other forum and it's nice to have somewhere all N but I don't post - I'm not too posh to post, but I'm not one for lots of different forums
woodenhead
Don't know whether it was the gym last night instilling some energy or today's announcements but I feel a spurt of creativity - time to begin laying the track on my first fixed set of baseboards in 18 years. RMweb Gold TomE Posted March 10, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 10, 2013 I hope that Farish have not done a Dapol and announced more than they can reasonable produce in the promised timescales. I thought Bachmann/Farish operated to a 'it'll be ready when it's ready' timescale these days?! Everything announced here is for release in the 2013/2014 period, so some of it is along way off yet. That said, the Fairburn was only announced today, and is already at EP stage! To be fair to Bachmann, things have improved a lot since a few years ago where items were announced, then left to float around in the ether for a while before being canned altogether, the last model to suffer from that being the Class 222. Yes the 2MT has been glacial in its progress, but all recent models since that period have shown up more or less in the period they were scheduled for release. Tom. talisman56
'N' in 'N' - something I'm going to look forward to. Having seen the 'OO' releases, I'd look forward to a downsize of the 'E4' too...
RMweb Premium Crepello Posted March 10, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2013 Just noticed the blue class 45 (weathered 45024); just right for the mk 2as I reckon. As for the Facebook link--the 55 looks superb. Parp, vroom!
MinZaPint
Would like to have seen the Windhoff MPV scaled down, but a DRS nuclear flask train will be excellent! Have a look at the N Gauage forum they have a project on the Windhoff.
