Slightly concerned by the actual content of that edition if the eBay "similar items" are to be believed...

Be careful with some of those "Atkins" editions - later versions are lower quality repros.  Not sure what the technical term is, but they look like someone has taken photos of pages in order to reprint.  Hence some of the less detailed photos end up being next to useless, and the text has a really annoying blur to it.

 

In this case it's the one with the SIPHONs on the cover.  Go for a different edition.

I think the one to go for is the 1998 3rd edition - the one with the big chains on the front.

Currently on my workbench is the newly re-released Chiver's kit for the LMS bolster wagon, diagram 1674, which I thought being finished in the grey might make a great addition to my rake of the similar TMC versions. Matt has a nice range of kits and ideal for beginners or old duffers like me.

You know me so well young Jedi and here is the latest release from Bachmann. No crew or lamps but I'm running her in on an three coach E set from Exeter so there. Interesting to see a more satin/gloss finish on these and the LT version. More anon.
