A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Lift those finger prints - they might come in handy ;)

Yep they are original Chinese factory production engineer’s finger prints currently preserved on the inside of the glazing…

I got permission from the civil engineer to run a couple of specials... on behalf of a pricey chocolate producer...

I was slightly shocked at the PM you sent me about repainting all your GWR Rolling Stock in Post War Southern Green :read::jester::jester:

Hello everyone

To assist with some future Rolling Stock Mini-Polls here - if there is support for them to run - it would be helpful to have an idea of your modelling time periods.

There are five outline time periods below; please select as many as apply to you and vote in the usual way (simply: 2, 3 etc).

If, for example, you model 1920 to 1935, simply vote 2 as being the closest approximation.

1 1900-1922

2 1923-1938

3 1939-1945

4 1946-1955

5 1956 to early 1960s

You have until 1700 on Saturday 8 August. You can vote by PM direct to me if you wish.

Brian (with Rob's kind approval)

4 and 5 but only the second part of 4 and the first part of 5 (i.e. the 1950s).

Can I change the subject to post this photo after a very enjoyable afternoon spent with @Graham_Muz

Aha, celebrity endorsement comes to RMweb! :jester:

It looks great on ANTB, Rob, a very attractive model.

I'm hoping - perhaps naively - that it's not too late to tweak those panels between the windows. That's the last thing needed for Kernow to corner the lucrative Danish market (that would be me).

I would be very interested in the last 4 or 5 mini polls.  I missed out on last weeks poll as I was busy with work.  Not a lack of interest but pressures of life!.

As for time periods I can operate 2, 3, 4 & 5  but mainly 1936 -1956.  To be honest my plan is to allow anything up to the end of Steam with a GWR/BR pedigree.

in an ideal world apart from the various goods wagons I would love a decent Collett restaurant car and although it won’t happen a decent modern set of Centenary stock or a Super Saloon.
