Yes, first thing I noticed was the overly long  buffer shanks. Perhaps the intention was to fill the gap to the overly long tension lock coupling?

 

Definitely on the hit list to fix.

Quick and easy fix, get some 3mm x 1mm styrene strip and make up some U shaped spacers to go around the buffer shank behind the buffer beam
