A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

I think (from distant memory) that I found a way of modifying them with pinpoint bearings.  I will try and remember to look tomorrow.

Guy Williams covered the build in MRJ and discarded compensation in favour of substituting pin point bearings . I seem to recall the original design incorporated inside bearings and consequently there was a bit of friction built in .

Seen elsewhere we have a new image of the front bufferbeam of the Accurascale Manor.

That looks incredibly good.  I'd better not buy one after all; it'd only make me want to throw my other locos in the bin.

I'm thinking if (and that's a huge if) I ever bought one I'd call it "Penelope Keith".

(Grantleigh Manor)

I'm not too sure about this either, although I think Rufus might just pull it off as Tom?

Whilst searching for something else I stumbled across an old pair of B set coaches built years ago from Comet kits. These are the diagram E129 and I used them on my BLT long before Brent was considered. 8750 pannier tank 4679 does the honours. The coaches were also painted by myself and are cruel in close up but not too bad to a blind man on a galloping horse.

They look good Rob. Always nice to see something a bit different and I like the close coupling too.

Not seen those on this thread for years.  Nice build and paint job.  And a refreshing change from the ubiquitous Airfix/Hornby 60 foot bow enders.  So let's see them again from time to time.
