A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Since being banned from RMweb , Larry G has started a thread on coach builds here http://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/larrygs-carriage-wb-4mm-00.7469/

He has the guts to use a Hornby Collett brake third as a base for a K38 full brake. Could also do the K42 this way, I think.

I think you'll find a Terrier far outweighs a Pannier in terms of cuteness.

The page number on which this post appears gives a good idea of which particular breed of pannier would be most appropriate!  But Arun Quay is such a stunning model it would be a shame to loose that 'Southern' atmosphere - perhaps a B4 would be suitable - Eling Wharf perhaps?.

I think most small engines would look great on such a magnificent layout and it also runs as well as it looks too. I believe it's at Railex this year.

A Hunslet 165hp 0-4-0 diesel mechanical tram loco, as used at Ipswich docks. :good:

Equally, you are also speaking great wisdom, good sir, but nothing is as cute as a pannier.

But which is the cutest pannier of them all?

Mirror, mirror, on the Shed Foreman's wall,

Who is the cutest pannier of all?

Certainly I know of few B4s that offend.

Given the nature of this thread, though, are you sure it isn't an Ealing (Comedy) Wharf?

I think we should enquire whether Gordon & Maggie are planning on obtaining a Little Loco Co. Ruston 48DS, when they come out.

Will I be ordering a 16XX soon?

What do you think my answer might be?

(PS. Don't accept any answers with the word 'no' in them).
