Yes, she was the donor for my last Hall, 4966 Shaky Hall.

This isn't a snide comment Rob. The chimney looks weird. Was it that early Halls had these and later Halls had those chunky and shorter versions? Or were there replacements fitted over the years?  I only saw Halls from 1958 onwards so I wouldn't really know.

The chimney used was from the Martin Finney range here http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/gwr_castings.htm

Incidentally, in that range of castings is a smokebox door [MF65] that could be useful on the Dapol mogul/prairie.

The weathering on that lineside hut is rather nice too.

I especially like the leaning chimney. Must have taken extra effort to make it look like that? :P

On a Christmas Special of "Strictly Come Modelling", Craig Revel Horwood would call that an "absolute disaster darling".

Good job we've got the evidence to show that's how it's exactly meant to be! :rtfm:

Great Western steam and the river Dart , a heady mix.

Add to that the fact that the Sea Trout Inn in Staverton appears to be open again, then you are heading towards the status of Acceptable Satisfaction.

That's good news I hope they have kept up the quality.

Is the Cherub in Dartmouth still going? That was one of my favourites about 40 years ago. Never had a better piece of John Dory before or since.

Not this time Grahame! The Cherub was a super little restaurant and pub in a very old building near the quay. I've actually answered my own question I think. Google tells me it's still there but the menu now seems to be pretty standard "pub fayre". Shame.
