RMweb Premium M.I.B Posted February 7, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 7, 2020 There's some incredibly fast work gone on up there /\ /\ /\ Kirby Hall passes the trainspotter and there's two tracks of about 8 wagons in the back ground. By the time Kirby passes the running in board, 7 x 5 plankers have appeared on the far road. That's fast shunting! 1

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted February 7, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) The casual observer might think that GWR and LNER had some parallels. After all, unlike LMS and Southern, they each had lots of green locos which bore a distinct family likeness, if varying proportions. EDIT : Locos not loos! Any use on ANTB? Yes, I saw it at Warley and last week at Stafford. Highly unlikely for '47 but I'm planning on a black 9487 for my '57 period. Newton allocated and used on the Ivybridge goods.

Hi Rob, It probably serves me right for not reading every one of your posts, but I didn't know you were planning a '57 version of the layout? If you do then you are getting nearer to my favourite '62 time frame? How do you plan to mark the later timeframe on the scenic etc., or are you just going to change the locos and stock and use Rule 1 to "ignore " the inconsistencies? I know my '62 and '92 timeframes are easier to deal with because I haven't got station platforms and I can use colour lights except for the Wycombe branch, and the signals there I plan to change when I change eras. However you have a lot of '30s infrastructure so I will be interested to see (and learn from) how you deal with the changeover! Best regards Paul
