A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

I once knew a woman who had had breakfast with General Smuts.

Had she danced with a man who danced with a girl who danced with the Prince of Wales?

Stood on the overbridge holding my well worn Ian Allan ABC. Carrying a satchel which contains my spam butties and a bottle of Tizer. Happy days. No DCC sound but nice anyway.

Excellent video Robin.  Trainspotter's anticipation of 60 years ago came flooding back to me!  Like the noise too.

No he won’t ! He’s  still waiting for the luxury of one of the new- fangled Hawksworth coaches so he’ll probably be standing there for another year.

Is that a request.:read:

I don’t think those newly introduced Hawksworths will cascade down to stopping services in 1947 so Mr Warburton will have to wait, but he’d like to see an N class go past so he can see all the wobbly bits  moving!

No , I moved down to the station to catch a 64xx class pannier, 6417, on a down stopping service to Plymouth. Maybe Mr Warburton will catch this one.

Those two non-corridor composites look familiar ;)

Who's that, then?

I believe Robin's referring to 4855, until something else put's in appearance ;)

Slightly disturbing, if you'd said Fell* - Robin would be calling the Men in White coats :jester:

*I'm exempt, as I already have a white coat, a straight-jacket, a padded cell and a certificate to prove it :jester:
