A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Superb prairie portrait.  Looks great with the signal behind it.  More close-ups like this please!

Just a cropped photo John, a tip picked up from @KNP of this parish.;)

Eh? And where does Graham Farish catch the fish? Poole?

Didn't know Bachmann were doing Decodes under the Graham Farish name?

Or maybe this is a subtle reference to GWR wagons (fish kind names??)

:help:

I don't think I'll give up the day job to be a comedian, except of course I don't have a day job any more!

Al right, I'll get back to the model making!!

:yahoo_mini:

Cheers all

I vaguely remember seeing a pannier with a spark arrester at Gloucester in the late 1950s or early 60s. My big brother explained what it was for. I'm not sure where it had come from or where it was working. I did find it intriguing though.

That spooky Forest of Dean's Goods perhaps.

I think it would have been used to shunt the timber yards at the docks. See the photograph half way down this page.

I have one of each, but the double fitted one is the right one............

Always a favourite of mine along with the 47XXs but not too favoured in the layout world in either GW or BR(W) guises.
