Snow, we are watching the situation closely both locally and with the exhibitors, some of whom are coming from outside the immediate area. We will make an announcement on the situation, probably later tomorrow as to what is happening.

I have just read on another forum that the show has now been cancelled

David

Thanks for posting that David.

Yes we have indeed cancelled the show, the decision was taken late last night. One of my colleagues has obviously got up somewhat earlier!

We have had no option due to what is already on the ground being frozen very hard and the fact that according to the Met Office there is more on the way.

It is out intent to hold the show at a later date, we will be advertising that in due course.

regards

Sorry to hear about the cancellation as it was a good show last year and I was looking forward to more of something similar (but I doubt I could have made it anyway as our road is well nigh undrivable at present).

And it looks like my possible alternative in South Wales is off as well... not a good weekend for shows it seems :(

What a shame as I was hoping to call in on my way to meeting some friends in Woking on Saturday afternoon.

Fully understand why though. I'm only 40 miles away and even the main roads in the area haven't been good over the last few days.

Looks like my first outing of 2010 will now be St. Albans. Weather permitting of course...

Thanks guys for understanding the situation.

Just to show that it was a necessary decision here is a photo of the Community Centre car park this afternoon. My friends near the centre tell me that the nearby roads are worse as they are hard packed ice with no salt or ploughing.

I think it was a sensible move. Tricky enough just walking around right now, let alone trying to carry chunks of layout.

Mark.

Cox Green is a village, so it's no surprise the local roads are not being treated leaving the organisers very little choice. I hope they are able to get as many of the same layouts as they can for the new date as it was a very attractive, balanced line-up.

We are having discussions with our exhibitors and the Community Centre to try to sort out a new date. We have identified a few possibles, hopefully in the not too distant future, but it is a bit of a juggling act as I am sure people will appreciate.

As soon as we can settle a date we will be advertising it in all the usual places.
