The most prominent landscape feature is the railroad embankment. Nice collection of units, as well:

Five units - all different, and three different liveries by the look of it too.  I wonder how long the photographer had to spend in the desert to get the shot?

That really does look like a garden railway. I have one of my halts in the garden that looks very similar with all the leaves, just out of scale leaves and my Geep is in Armor yellow.

So buy one of these and sit in the garden punching scale leaves out of the full size ones! ;)

Here's a 1989 picture of a Santa Fe Railway piggyback train in Pasadena, California. The train is running in the median of the Foothill Freeway(Interstate 210 or I-210). The Super Chief, Southwest Limited, and Southwest Chief trains of the Santa Fe/Amtrak used to traverse this route back in the day. Today, the freeway median is double-tracked and the L.A. Metro L Line(formerly Gold Line) light rail trains run between suburban Azusa and East Los Angeles via Downtown Los Angeles. Happy New Year to all of you!

That's a great  picture. I rode a Metrolink train out from L A Union to San Bernadino in 2007 that went a long way along the median of a freeway.

Metrolink's San Bernardino Line runs in the median of the San Bernardino Freeway(Interstate 10 or I-10) for many miles on former Pacific Electric Railway trackage.

Thanks for that, I wondered which freeway it was. That was in 2007.  Out that way and back via Riverside.

Here's a picture of a Metra commuter train in Chicago. The locomotive is in the "heritage" design honoring the former Chicago & North Western Transportation Company(green and gold). The John F. Kennedy Expressway(Interstates 90 and 94 combined) is in the foreground. Lake Michigan is in the background to the left.

Here's a picture of a Amtrak train in Lyle, Washington. The Empire Builder is moving westbound towards Portland, Oregon in the Columbia River Gorge area. On the other side of the Columbia River, vehicular traffic is moving on the Interstate 84(I-84) freeway. Lyle is 76 miles(121.6 kilometers) east of Vancouver, Washington and 85 road-miles(136 road-kilometers) east-northeast of Portland, Oregon.

Here's a picture of a Union Pacific Railroad train in Wadsworth, Nevada. The eastbound train is running alongside the Truckee River. Interstate 80(I-80) freeway is on the other side of the Truckee River(note the big truck on the right). Wadsworth is a suburb of Reno.
