One feature to ease the modelling burden:  the coal loads are all identical and look like cast plastic ones.  My wife noticed this when we were out there last fall.

Pete - I don't know if you are a member of Train Orders.com but they frequently have photos like those - in fact there is one on there this morning. Rules of the board dom't allow me to post it on here

I was a member Jack but I didn't visit enough to warrant paying for the privilege......I'm not "tight" but you have to "draw a line" somewhere!

I don't like all the ads and stuff on RPN but it is free and has some superb work on it. I'm also a member of Railroad.net - that is a vast site and I can barely keep up with just the New Jersey section...

Best, Pete.

IMO the CP Spiral Tunnels above Field BC are at least as remarkable as the Tehachapi loop - they each turn through about 270 degrees, but they do it underground! That means that any photos of trains travelling through them are not as spectacular as pictures of Tehachapi. However, here's a picture of a train passing downhill through the upper tunnel, which gives an idea of the scenery around them:

(Upper portal on the far right, lower portal just behind the locos.)

Adrian, beautiful in a Mordor-lite way!

That river looks freaking dangerous!

Best, Pete.

PS That CN Livery is now one of my favourites, such a stand out!
