Hardwiring a Zimo sound chip into a Bachmann class 20, with sound, lights and a capacitor

A little job I did for a mate. All the lights are independent so you can switch the reds off altogether or just have them illuminated at each end when stabled.

The cab light is also independent and switches itself off after speed step 0.

All the lights were programmed using JMRI and Zimos excellent Swiss Mapping function.

The sounds are Paul Chetters drivable Class 20 sounds. there is no less than SIX complete sound sets on the chip!! tailored to suit small, medium and large layouts.

I still need to play with it to get the best driving style. But just like the real thing you can have lots of thrash when setting off with a heavy load, then back the revs off as you get under way. Fantastic!!

The loco was controlled by my phone via JMRI and a SPROG.
