RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted May 12, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 12, 2013 Here's a few photos of a little work i managed to get done to the railway this weekend the first two pictures are of the wall of the station platform which i have painted with mixed acrylic colours to hopefully give a more realistic feel than just one colour. i think it might need toning down with w quick airbrush weather with white. any commentS? the next few pics are of one of my p&o nedloyd containers which i have painted some 'repair' panels onto. again any comments welcome
Satan's Goldfish
have had a new idea from some pictures for another project to add to my list of to do's. image.jpg image.jpg these are pics taken at eastleight of some of the new tso mk2 that drs hav e repainted for the sellafield staff train Would certainly be different (i still think the Mk2s looked their best in Anglian colours) The 'posing plank' that a lot of the weathered stock is shown on, is that at Dan's? RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted June 2, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted June 2, 2013 hi here is todays update of work i've done over the weekend. the first set of pics are of some containers i've weathered the second few photos are of some body sides from two mk2 and one mk1 rfm that i have painted in white as a primer/undercoat which i will be putting a final coat of network rail yellow on when i get chance. i'm converting the two mk2 into a seated coach for use on a network rail train and one which is 60% seating and 40% work/storage area. the mk1 internally will be kept complete. creating a network rail restaurant coach. maybe not prototypical but i like the idea once the network rail coaches are done i will be then converting the rest of my mk2 fleet from br blue/grey to drs compass livery to try and replicate the carlisle/sellafield staff train. as shown below in a pic taken of the coaches whilst at eastleigh being painted.

Satan's Goldfish
Cool, cheers bud. When all the 1001 other projects are sorted i'll have another pair of heavily modified mk1s that'll need a good coat of yellow to go with my old Hornby 75t crane. That should be a much simpler paint job and will be a while away in the future yet, plus i'll need to do the transfers for all the diagonal black warning stripes. Fun days! Trip to 'Howes' when you're up in a couple of weeks?

RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted June 6, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2013 have started painting the coaches featured in primer above tonight. the mk1 restaurant coach sides came out almost perfect. just another coat or two and they'll be fine. in places didn't get the mk2 right the is some 'drippage' where I've oversprayed by rushing it. so once they have completely dried and then rub back down with 1200 grit sand paper and recoat again to get back to a good point. once done I can then give a second coat.
