Can't say 66s are my fave loco at all but I do try to keep up with them. Noticed that 66782 (ex DB nee EWS) appears to have had new light clusters, presumably whilst Arlington were preparing it for GBRf ?

Some from yesterday/this morning

 

first up yesterday I went to see my mum in mid wales, Called into Llanuwchllyn to see my dad who was working at the railway 

 

locos in the new shed 

 

 

And the old shed 

 

Then last night it was a drive over to Sheffield to work a possession train back to toton, large logo 66789 up front

 

 

and into toton at 05:45

 

and that was that, week off now

I really must get to the BLR again some time. Last time I was given a personal tour of the shed, but that was seemingly several centuries ago.

Nice to see the Hunslets looking so well cared for.

The locos in the ex DB batch with new style lights were all fitted by DB. There's at least two, from memory. 

66703 on the other hand, from the pic on the previous page, has recently been fitted by GB

And 66722 back, spent the day with Marcus37 who was road learning from Trent jn into the yard at Toton so I can confirm he is still alive but not doing much railway modelling

then I went out to Stockport, changed ends, to chinley, changed ends again and back to hazel grove then changed ends again and over (and under) the Pennines to Sheffield 

 

 

 

and away to derby RTC to stable, weekend off now, back to the bescot tripper on Monday

Liking the shot at Toton with the other sheds...66570 was put on the ballast rake with 66589 in the right of your shot and they formed 6K50 to Crewe BH. I take it you were on the inbound 6D44 trip from Bescot with 66760 in tow? I caught that at Stenson:

 

Then the 6G45 return, seen at Swarkestone. I know this was you - cheers for the tone!

I was in the lead cab of the rear loco on the way toton as there were 2 other drivers on board

 

same job today but just moving 2 DB locos to toton, 66722 again with 66055 and 66111, we had to take the GB loco to work the return service to bescot

 

As I sign the depot I took them straight for fuel

 

 

we then discovered the return working was cancelled so we’re light loco back to bescot, got an early path and set off for a nice early finish only to get a phone call to say an intermodal train had failed between nuneaton and coleshill and could we assist so we ended up going to the triangle at Water Orton and heading back to Whitacre jn

 

Where we then went wrong direction for 7 1/2 miles to meet the failed train and couple up 

 

 

took it back to hams hall where we shunted it away, fuelled the errant loco then took our loco back to bescot 

 

unfortunatly I got a phone call on the way home to say my mum wasn’t well so have had to take a few days off so there probably won’t be any updates the rest of the week now

Nearly got bowled by another GB shed at North Stafford Jn yesterday for the northbound move...it made for a good passing shot though!

I won't be out for the rest of the week as I'm now back up north.

Indeed! To be fair I wasn't waving because I was trying to get a half decent shot. Realtime and the data feeds from NR died yesterday so I didn't know what any of the moves were really, and you don't know how reliant you are on them until you have to go 'blind'!

they appear to have had a move about of class 60s in the yard, new ones parked on the first road and the fuel line 

 

but the ones on the new bank are still the same 

 

and our train to go back, was just the single wagon though

 

short job tomorrow, Landor st to Leicester then 2 more days of bescot to toton before my mums cremation on Friday

after a look in the shops I got a taxi from moor st to Landor st, 68012 in the platform ready to head to london

Is the RTC livery, 97205, genuine or a post-preservation repaint?

 

I ask as I remember 97203 and its replacement, 97204, from BR days, but not 97205.
