on the class 97 job bescot to shrewsbury tonight, really cant be bothered with it though, a lot of messing about putting the train together and then having to go back to bescot for my van at the end of it all

Good to see world of Colas can now be done in N with 37,56,60,66 and 70 all slated or available in next years Farish  Annouincements - 56 Dapol of course.

The 37's seem to be residents at the west end of Bescot yard at the moment, good to see them there as I pass through the M6/M5 junction twice each day

they normally live on the 'column road' in the day which is where you see them when you pass on the motorway, then get put on 6C70 in the evening, funnily enough thats the job i've been on this evening, couldn't be botherered to take any pictures though, too wet and miserable

Couple from today, supposed to be having a weekend off but got called in last minute to rescue a failed train at Longbridge

 

First up picked up 56113 from washwood heath

 

Too busy and unsafe for pics at longbridge so just a pic at derby when I arrived into there with it, class 56 on a test train anyone!!

 

Not as it seems though, it was only rescuing not recording, bet Mick needs picking up off the floor though

The NR LNW messages i was getting stated it was a parking brake fault with the DBSO.

 

Nice to see the 56 used to rescue it!

Jim,

Thanks for going to rescue 37421 and train. It failed slow line Northfield on the up slow- stopping cross city electrics in their tracks, XC and diesel services from beyond Barnt Green used up goods loop to Longbridge as two trains trapped looking at a 323 in Longbridge platform with nowhere to go, at Longbridge diesel traction crossed back over to up fast and all was good !  When I suggested this routing to the NR Midlands TRC he seem surprised and went to ask signallers if it was possible, luckily/ sensibly  it was authorised in short order  .

Unlike the day before LM were quick of mark with turnrounds at Kings Norton and at New St to keep a bit of traffic on Cross-city  North  

 

Thanks to your efforts and 3Q01 driving wrong road once electrics set back into the now vacant up goods loop,  all on the move in around an  hour.  Due resulting log jam release of 5 trapped electric sets XC sent all traffic via Camp Hill, alls well that ends well and hopefully the fault on the RTOV/ DBSO will be fixed and not happen again!! (live in hope!)

Some from today, just camera phone pics as I couldn't be bothered with the big camera today

 

Kingmoor while I got down to change the points

 

Then into carlisle station, plat 1 for a change where I sat for a good 10 mins

 

 

And into Warrington

 

Had an interesting experience in Preston, got routed onto the goods and ran over a spurious detonator, Of course I had to stop, completly blocked the north end of the station for a couple of minutes while I spoke to the box who gave me permission to proceed at caution onto the goods to clear the junction, the consensus is it wasn't picked up following a possession, and I was the only train to use the goods today so it was me who found it, someone is in for a rollicking I recon!

 

Same job tomorrow then something blue and yellow with a large logo on Friday

not heard anything but that particular story does the rounds every so often

Oooohh. 70808 is my almost finished second Colas Fugly.

 

I was going to build a RILA rig to fit to my WCRC 37516 but ORR have put paid to that for now.

I saw the RILA when I passed through Reading on Tuesday and totally forgot until I just say the pic but I think IIRC or another rig was on the front of 70806

That explains the delay then...

 

Colas's new toy out to play today as 37254 took 40013 to Derby RTC from Barrow Hill, then took 56302 from Derby to Barrow Hill...

started yesterday in shrewsbury

 

just spotted myself in the reflection!

 

then 37025 arrived

 

 

off i went to besford hall where i sat outside the yard for over an hour

 

then they let me in and it was decided to go up to the pad to collect the crane myself rather than waiting for freightliner to bring it back into basford hall

 

 

and away to the PAD, a bit of shunting to move the errant crane out of the way of my traffic and job done ready to depart

 

back through basford hall to drop the shunter off and pick up the paperwork

 

and that was it to walsall

if you'd have said to me 3 years ago when i started at colas that i'd drive a 37, 56, 60, 66, 70 and 97 all in the space of a week i'd have told you you were not all there!

 

amazing how things change in a short time

 

and just one from this morning, 70809 in banbury, bought it down from bescot with 48 coalfish and another 70 on the rear

Great pics of 37025 you must have been one of the most photographed trains in UK that day would obviously like to see her work a few trains up here but as long as she is mainline earning her keep and some £ to help restore her sisters. You never know if Colas still need 37's you could be driving 37261 when she is restored.

 

Also Jim if you can you should try and get here for Bo'ness diesel gala you could even bring the class 70 don't think they have had one there yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
