looking at the itinary lots of interesting bits and bobs, 92 out of Cardiff, 86 tacking the lickey, 37/33 combo

the only bit I could do traction/route wise is the Preston to Carlisle leg with a class 60 but there are plenty of other bits I could route conduct over such as the Cannock line which only a few of us sign

Thanks Jim.

Assuming it is not a green 86/6 that leaves 86101, 86259 or 86401.

Very intriguing !!!

First sparky up the Lickey? Well, first one under power.....

Reading elsewhere it seems 86401 and possibly 86259 can also be ruled out.

This suggests the "wolf in sheeps clothing" will be the one to attack the Lickey from a dead stand.  Would love to be a fly on the cab bulkhead of that loco, particularly if it was a day of light showers

Night time isnt it? In September - likely to be damp rail ...... but presumably the EDs are still on the back to shove if needed....

Those DBSO's have paid for themselves. IIRC they started out on Edinburgh  to Glasgows with 47/7's then went to do Liverpool Norwich.  They've certainly been a good investment.

Driver Brake Second Open; it's the Mk 2 coach with a driving cab, visible in Jim's last photo.

due to the risk from corona virus me and the conductor driver weren’t allowed to be in the same cab

Sorry I know it's serious, but that made me laugh - I had visions of one of you hanging out of the back cab shouting! :D

- good job the second men have gone too !
