RMweb Gold Accurascale Fran Posted April 21, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 21, 2013 Try model junction, they carry an small but useful range and are good for mail order www.modeljunction.info
alastairb
As well as Model Junction, Team Track Trading in Redruth carry some. I tend to use Highball Graphics in the USA. They carry a very comprehensive range and provide a speedy reasonably priced mail order service to the UK.
Eggesford box
M G Sharp at Sheffield used to stock a large variety of parts but have not ordered from them for some time (not a reflection on them) so do not know what their stock situation is like nowadays. gridwatcher
Sharps list a lot but most OOS. The above advice list is spot on too. What are you after? Anything specific?
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted April 22, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 22, 2013 I have used Walthers if no one in the Uk has the items in stock. Delivery can be anything from 4 days to 6 weeks though.
Parthia27
As said above, try Model Junction or Team Track Trading, if they don't have what u need then order from Highball Graphics or Walthers in the US both give great service. I have also purchased from Microscale, BLMA, Cannon, Moloco, and HiTech direct and have got excellent service. Not used M G Sharp for a while, went to their shop in Sheffield about 12 months ago and vas shocked to see how little stock they had. For Kadee stuff I use Model Junction or P&H Models (a quick search in Google usually works to find them). For paint I always try Model Junction 1st, otherwise I go direct to Walthers. warbonnetuk
I'd concur with Highball Graphics or Walthers (v happy customer of both). Don't forget that Model Junction are an authorised Walthers dealer so you can order on the Walthers website for delivery to MJ If you're desperate for something Caboose Hobbies ship by DHL so you'll get it in a week but pay for it as well! tornado64
thanks for all reccomendations , i wasn't after anything specific , just new to american HO diesel detailing as i'm not intrested in a layout but the diesels and detailing the old stuff like athearn blue box is enjoyable in itself
warbonnetuk
If you are getting into loco detailing then (if you haven't already) look at the 'Diesel Detailer' and 'Proto Modeler' forums. The Proto Modeler forum can be a little 'heavy' at times but are a mine of info on doing up locos & stock But don't forget to post your projects up here for us to see first!! Steve Williams
The Sidings, Tamworth (except that they are now down Okehampton / Launceston way: http://www.thesidingstamworth.com/home.asp
squeaky
Another vote for Highball Graphics, I've used them a few times and they have a good range in stock and arrive quite quickly from the States. I've also bought direct from Atlas for various bodyshell parts.
clark33
Railmodel Journal might show what you want. Start with: http://www.trainlife.com/magazines/browse?search=&title=1&year=0&order=creation_date&page=&tag=&start_date=&end_date= But I can’t find the indices. Maybe because: http://www.trainlife.com/magazines/model-train-magazine-contents/480/railmodel-journal-november-1994 No contents have been indexed for this magazine issue. So, view the full magazine content. Anyway, there is usually one in each issue; ‘… Diesels, one detail at a time …’ EMD SD45-2 as EL 3679 is on http://www.trainlife.com/magazines/pages/481/35088/december-1994-page-30 or GE U25B as MILWAUKEE ROAD 5000 is on http://www.trainlife.com/magazines/pages/480/34992/november-1994-page-14 Phil Clark, Catarman, Philippines. tornado64
are "the sidings tamworth " still alive ???? trying in vain to phone the number on the web site with no response whatsoever , i wish to throw quite a bit of regular business thier way as they stock everything i require but it may be less hassle to buy from over the pond if this is an indication of normal service !! Steve Williams
I phoned them the other day and they were very helpful and had in stock what I needed. I do believe that this may not be Jason's only income source, so it might just have been that he was otherwise engaged. May be best to e.mail him first. This is what I did, to ensure he had in stock what I was after, and he did e.mail me back.
