Like the Pioneer tractor Simon. Very nice indeed. I will watch the vid later as I'm currently huddled round the heater on a DBS 66 in a freezing Small Heath Yard. Don't ask!!!!

I've done my share of huddling in loco cabs/cars when I was a shunter for EWS back in 2004/2005, went to some out of the way locations to "tap" trains in possessions.

In fact I grabbed this on my way down to Rugby one Saturday morning, had to go and "tap" some Salmon wagons loaded with track panels in the Up yard at Rugby.

Not much has happened lately with the layout, bought some more rolling stock as well as a Class 25. The class 25 is so that I can do some more "Look back at Pendeford yard today" videos, the period I've chosen is 1978 so that I can run Speedlink alongside Wagonload freights.

37350 is ready to hit the rails, it's not perfect but it's good enough for me.

And last but not least the March edition of Pendeford Yard Today has been uploaded to Youtube

Thanks for taking a look and for the feedback, Mark was really good and spotted some new shooting locations that I had never considered before. The Jocko sounds are from https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCErBflDX9lxRLCSxfwz2Olg and the steel loads on the BDAs are strips of lead cut from some lead roofing flashing supplied by a builder friend.

Like the latest video, I was wondering yesterday when the next one would be broadcast.

My Daughter likes all the effects and wants use them on her video channel, but we have no idea about such things.

I like the cargo wagons, want one myself but never seen any pictures of them in the area I'm modelling.

Lastly, apology if I've asked before, where did you get the people dotted about the yard? Still after some staff for my yard but can't fiind any of 1980s vintage.

Cheers.

As "Blake Street", editor of PYD, I'll let you into the secrets of the trade.  The latest editions have been edited using Cyberlink Power Director 15 which is a paid for editing package, but the earlier editions were edited in Microsoft's Movie Maker which contains a nice set of effects and is of course free to anyone running on Windows although if you are on Windows 10 I think you might have to download it.  Movie Maker is a great little package for learning how to put together videos and being free is an added bonus.  You'll probably find some on-line tutorials on Microsoft Movie Maker on YouTube as well.  That might be a good place to start, although Power Director is very good and allows a lot more tricks and effects plus access to additional add-ons the users have created as shareware.

Static graphics, photo manipulation etc are through Paint Shop Pro but any photo/graphic editing software will do.

Time is the factor, luckily when Mark was here I was able to get enough footage to have one in hand ready to upload for March, due to the layout having a small fiddle yard I have to carry out a lot of stock swapping in between takes. The effects are from a video editing program that I purchased (cheaply on Amazon) as a thank you for the help he gives me.

The Cargowagons are a good model, but hate being propelled and dislike some of my tighter curves so they only make the occasional foray around the layout.

The people are just the bog standard Dapol figures, painted to resemble what I see in pictures and one is of a friend of mine who's ex BR.

Thanks for looking and commenting, it means the world to me that people enjoy my layout.

Yet another superb new video Simon. The intro's just get funnier. I have been drooling over your new tractor though. Must admit I preferred that incarnation of D6700 as to the later one that EWS did. I know the later repaint was a proper job with the skirts reapplied and SYP but there was just something about the earlier repaint with the full yellow ends. Had the Lima model of it years ago.

Top job mate.

Cheers

Marcus
