Ben04uk
Does anyone know what type of traffic the Newton Abbot to Heathfield freight only service on the closed Moretonhampstead branch would have handled in 1970s and what type of wagons would have been seen on the line during this period? Would it just have been general merchandise or were there any special traffics situated along the line? There is a picture of the freight service on page 21 of 'Diesel Days: Devon & Cornwall' by John Vaughan which seems to show some 12T vans and brake van being transported by a Class 22 in July 1971.
