Runs as required. David Todd has always said your as amusing as Jeremy Paxman, and now I know just what he means. Wonderful to catch up. And thank you so much for checking into a way to solve my Ye Olde White Horse roofing issue. I will be expanding on this asap. But I won a competition on our old forum, and Runs as required sorted out the elevations as my prize. So he has a vested interest :sungum:  :sungum:  :sungum: to see it to completion.

C&WR having been friends for so long, and having shared many a joke and laugh on this forum and our previous one. It was wonderful to meet up finally. We enjoy most shows but thanks to meeting so many friends it was just extra special.

Caught up with Richard Johnson and his associate Peter of DCC Concepts. Who we have known for quite some time online and met a couple of times before. Enjoyed his presentation of his 3 latest products. Unfortunately because we wanted to avoid the football leavers, we did not hang about to enjoy a drink this time around. So we can't get him to spill the beans on anything else in the pipeline.

Uax6 and daughter. You did make me smile, your so good to your little girl, I think if you had not 'rescued'  those mini pork pies they would have 'disappeared' LOL. :jester: Lovely to meet you.

Ah shucks! I was one my best behaviour, she would have told me off otherwise! Oh I know she had ideas on them, I should have brought the ones with the pickle in, she doesn't like them!

Lovely to see everyone and find they are quite human, despite their obvious extra-superhuman powers at making models.  All such delightful people.

Thanks to Jaz for dragging everyone in too.

. :senile: ...  Maxi Me has just met Mini Me and is most impressed with Mini Him too  ....    best not elaborate here just yet   ...  [all will be revealed later for those not yet in the know  ...    just a little "Watch this space"    .....    :O

...................   Strangely cool, in this area, here for the time of the year, when I got back  ...   an unexpected chill in the air  ...   still tomorrow is forecast to be warmer   ......

She did tell you off... you spent far too long gassing while she was trying to get you to eat lunch :)

It was great to see her so enthusiastic, and not just about the pork pies!

Jaz,

Thank you so much for organising to get us all together. I've not had so much fun at a show before. It was great talking to so many people that are normally only avatars and text on the screen. And while Andy Y may not be so happy about it the lack of a huge crowd also meant that I kept bumping into people and getting into even more conversation.

Thanks again, Neil

Just legible at the top

CLIFFHANGAR

I have had the pleasure of seeing this gentleman's work before. another of his layouts has gone to Russia, his homeland, to go to a museum. This lovely piece is still here. You might think there is too many trees, but if you stop and watch this is is just absolutely fascinating. I have videos this one, i'll pop it up later, the seagull noise alone is worth watching it for.

I agree I think all those people worrying about the footie and saturday traffic made it much easier for us. :sungum:

The gentleman here was really nice, I explained my camera can't cope with moving train so he kindly stopped it for me to get the snaps.

I just love the colouring of the water.

I copied these to Will J blog but can't work out how to link to them.;(

so I linked to his profile

There was also a couple of people who we wanted to chat to, but either they were talking or we were talking at the wrong moment.

Paul Chetter and Pete Harvey, being two such people, and well worth a chat to. sorry to have not got to catch up.

Earls Court

Another little masterpiece. Walk past this and you miss some superb modelling.

This are NOT just shop fronts....just look inside...

med_gallery_17883_3195_155622.jpg

these fronts are all individually made, from left overs of kits, and / or scratch built, and some print and folded paper....

the combination......just fantastic

some of the subject matter....has been carefully modelled....Chatted to the modeller. He lived in London, spent his childhood, and really has the flavour. So many good bits hard to choose....but the workmen....look at the detail!!! Gorgeous.

Way aye, you divvunt hang aroond Hinnie! How many posts is that since you got back to Arboretumville?

Some amazing pics you have managed to put up, of stuff I never actually spotted in detail for all the "jaw jaw".

Personally speaking that is the best show I've ever been to - mostly because it was possible to actually talk in an engaged way to the experts (I'd flagged up before as wanting to contact) without feeling there was a huge crowd behind resenting the old f*#¥ hogging the action.

Thanks so much for taking all that trouble to herd us together - mebbe harder than cats.....

Hope you don't mind me posting a couple of photos on here from what was a great day.

You've already posted one of Victoria Bridge. I have to say I was quite captivated and the chap running, who was having a few teething problems early in the day (itr was only 9:45) was great to spend time telling me about its quirks but also a lot of what he was trying to achieve. I think he has achieved it!. I've got space on my mantelpiece for something like that... I thought the modelling was great, the bridge built from 3D printed parts, and the lighting to me, while simple, gave it that look of an early summer evening with the sun coming in from low in the sky (don't know if the compass is in the right direction for that though ;) )

Earls Court was fantastic. I'm so glad that Jaz got some really good shots of the shops and roadworks as I managed to mess up my photos of both. But I got a couple of the station that struck me as the sort of thing you'd see from the windows of buildings around the station.

Finally, as Jaz has already posted fantastic photos of many of the layouts that I really liked, one of my favourites was Yard Shunter. The gentleman behind the scenes spent a long time talking to me about his servo set up, as well as many other aspects of the layout. I liked the cameos that were scattered all over, like the overturned lorry with the associated traffic jam, the yard workers stood gassing around the crane, the PW workers getting on with the job and the chap on the back of the lorry scratching his head as if he's not sure he was meant to be dropping this load off here.

A great day, with lots to see and learn (I was there from 9:40 to 16:45, and others outlasted me), with lots of fun people. I hope we can all do it again next year :)
