Jaz
My parents visited Basildon House near Pangbourne during the summer, which was used as "Buckingham Palace" for the David Jason series "The Royal Bodyguard". The guide told my parents that he'd taken David Jason for a tour of the house during a break in filming and when they entered a room with a large chandelier DJ said "I can take that down and clean it for you if you like..." ROFL.......ok ok you know I'm going to have to BUILD this ruddy chandelier don't you......and make a carpet......it could be the broken one being sneaked out......I could just about manage that LOL.... what vehicle did they use? Anyone know?

RJS1977
ROFL.......ok ok you know I'm going to have to BUILD this ruddy chandelier don't you..... Well, you could always use the excuses a vicar is alleged to have used when one of the congregation suggested the (poorly-lit) church should get a new chandelier. His reply was: "1) I'd have to write the order for it and I can't spell it. 2) There's nobody in the congregation who knows how to play one...." Andrew P
Hi Jaz, THanks for your concern about my well being on Bitton last week, I had a great Holiday and now fully re charged, (pics in the Lounge), I will have a catch up on here over the weekend. All the best to you and Kal.
Thom
For the Reliant van used in Only Fools and Horses, I suggest you do a search for it on eBay and save the search. That van was produced in OO by someone at some point because I have two of them that I got on eBay. Have no clue what company did it, but they did do it. Although, comparing them side by side...

Jaz
did you make it to Spalding today? looked for you both but didn't see you. We did ....all day......we left well after they announced it was shut ........I didn't see you either ;(. We were near Paul Chetter for ages and Shawplan, lunched in the 'restaurant'. have loads of pictures, but we are chatting to David Todd, who is staying with us for the weekend..... so neither of us is modelling, or posting as we usually do........we just scoffed chinese. Although, at the show, I was using Kal's new iPhone 6 plus a lot.......it can take decent pictures even with running trains!!!!!!...although I did use my pink one quite a bit too. I don't tend to do most of the pictures on the first day.....I tend to look round. Perhaps the fact David was with us meant I was not next to Kal as much as usual....plus Kal was quit happy to sit and listen to Paul Chetter, whereas not being ethnically minded i was wandering around taking pictures. I also do my usual stop and chat to several exhibitors that had items of interest, this will be reflected in the pictures when I upload them. Am sorry to have missed you, hope you and your dad had a good day. We are planning to go again tomorrow.

@Jc
Great work with the fair and the Batman and Robin characters Jaz. I was pleased to see that Pastel and I were at the fair. I have seen Thurston at several local shows and was impressed at seeing a layout recreating a harvest field. Something like that would look great on AV. One small thing that struck me from your picture of Thurston is that the the combine driver is going to have to do a lot of shunting at the end of the field. Normally a field is combined by firstly taking 3 - 4 cuts around the outside. This creates space in which to turn at the ends for when field is cut from top to bottom - thus removing the risk of running over the crop.
Jaz
This gentleman is in the corner every year, and people often stand 4 or 5 deep watching him as he shows how to model various items, and he updates the buildings...making small changes... Im fairly certain the new roof is recent rmweb3397spalding2014 rmweb3398spalding2014 I love the little lane rmweb3399spalding2014 rmweb3400spalding2014 always a favourite to stop and look at....... there will be a few more pictures of this later......
Jaz
rmweb3387spalding2014 rmweb3388spalding2014 I was talking to one of the exhibitors for this lovely layout, and he had trialed items here which he was not too impressed with, although the real slate etc works lovely he said the 'plastic' water as opposed to varnish which can be easily wiped is much more problematic for keeping clean. I just wish I could produce something this lovely and not feel really impressed with the result Being O gauge you can get some lovely detailing in place... rmweb3389spalding2014 with train.... rmweb3390spalding2014 same no train rmweb3391spalding2014
