Etched Pixels
Could anybody give information on converting a Graham Farish class 20 to dcc please Same as all the Poole built diesels and steam. You need to isolate the motor brushes from the chassis block. It is possible to do it by wiring to the pickups and breaking the pickup contacts with the chassis block but that risks a derailment shorting the wheels to the chassis block and doing damage. Usual way to do it is to use a "Digihat" kit from DCC supplies to do the brush isolation. Space internally is a bit tight but most smaller wired decoders will fit in the fuel tank (on the Farish one its a space with only moulded sides on the Bachmann one the middle "box" pops out and makes a nice decoder drawer.
