Great pics :good:

Call me old fashioned but am struggling without any kind of headcode on it :help:

37610?  Yes I know what you mean.  The plain front does look err, different.

But on the other hand, it's good to see it still operating on the network over 50 years after its construction (just checked; build date 21/10/1963).

Certainly getting plenty of diesel traction variety in this part of West Yorkshire so far this year.

West Coast Railway Company's 37706 and 37685 Loch Arkaig double-head the diesel portion of todays 'Scarborough Spa Express', approaching Heaton Lodge Junction.

1Z25, 07.09 Carnforth to Scarborough.

Edited to add a couple of images of the return working 1Z27, 17.13 Scarborough to Carnforth, which owing to various heat related track and OHL issues on the ECML was running 45 minutes early at this point.

Now with 37685 Loch Arkaig leading 37706, passing through Sowerby Bridge.

Eccles Road

37402, Stephen Middlemore, 23.12.1954-8.6.2013, on 5Z37, 13:10, Derby R.T.C. - Norwich C.PT. T.&R.S.M.D (17:19)

The sun is wrong side and typically, was very bright for a couple of minutes while the train passed and then went back in again, so this is about the best shot.

Obviously they must have been easier to get off back then , I remember having a hell of a job to get some spares for 6732 back in the 90s off a scrapper.

The horns a removed from inside the nose

Compare it to a modern day view, you may have to move the camera to face the blue Ford Fiesta

Yep. Certainly changed. My mum lives in one of the houses on the cul-de-sac behind the first carriage. It's a nice walk up to Newton on the track bed. A shame there aren't more photos of this stretch between Rugby and Lutterworth.

A few pics from my trip to Norwich on Monday 19th August. I do like going there, seems like there is always 37s to be seen.

Those scenes will soon be consigned to the history. And it will be a very sad day.
