Class "37" Photos...

Recommended Posts

Coming across this picture it struck me that I don't think I've ever seen a picture of 37s double heading a container train before. Perhaps it was quite common at the time, but I don't recall ever seeing it pictured.

I agree, never been a fan of WCR livery, dull and lifeless, more so on 33's as well.

Afraid that I'm going to have to disagree with you all on this one as it's one of my favourite liveries to come out of the post BR period, I can't wait to see my 2 pre-ordered WCR Farish 37s growling their way through the gorse on my new WHL based layout. As @Nearholmer suggests each to their own I suppose.

Regards,

Ian.

The routing via Barnsley and Penistone would suggest that this is another driver route refresher trip ahead of the start of this years Rail Head Treatment Trains in a couple of weeks time.

BR Type 3 Co-Co diesel at Nottingham Victoria

When I was little my Dad used to take me and my brother to Nottingham Victoria to see the trains, we would stay until the "green diesel" came through! This picture reminds me so much of those days, I can barely believe it's over half a century ago and that beautiful station is now a shopping centre! Thank you for the memories.

Hellifield isn't the best place to get loco photos when they're at the platform.
