Interesting, no Dog or Stag on it.  Always thought the North of the Border 37/4's carried either one or the other?

A temporary omission, I expect. It certainly had stag logos (plus black headcode boxes) but the time it was named a few months later.

Taken in Feb 1986, the companion photos of 37 415 taken on the same day also show no Stags. They can't have been that long out of Works either at that date (?)

D6801 Nottingham Victoria 1964 by trainsandtravel

BR Type 3 Co-Co diesel at Nottingham Victoria

It was a great station, and very impressive to a schoolboy; and I went there a few times with my Dad, but I discovered the delights of Midland (far more 'cops', the Blue Pullman for a time in the middle of the day, and the GC on the bridge across the station) and I'm afraid to say that I used to lobby for an extended visit to the competitor of Victoria.

Is that the furthest North that NSE stock has been photted, or can we find one at Thurso?

A quick Google Search didn't turn up any,

I would imagine that any stock allocated to Inverness Depot for the far north lines interworked over time, so I expect it did appear at Thurso even if not photographed there.

This 37 has been at Stonebridge for several days now. I believe it is 37611 or 37800 but I will check tomorrow. Our artistic friends with spray cans have got to it........

I have been told that graffiti morons are actually impeccably well organised, even bringing their own ladders.

I would still happily hang them from the nearest lamp post though....

On 20th September 2021 Locomotive Services Limited's D6817 (37521) and D6851 (37667) pass through Deighton working light locomotives as 0Z37, Crewe Holding Sidings to York National Railway Museum.

Always a risk at this location, even with the current reduced number of timetabled services, that a TransPennine Express working will try to photobomb - 185143 paired with 185146 on a Hull to Manchester Piccadilly service joins the action.
