Nice project. I used to walk the dog on the bit of embankment that was left on the way to MacDonalds, drive to Northampton on the trackbed, well new bit of A43, past the old bridges, as well as hear strange echoes in Tesco....

I have been looking at Towcester signal box signaling layout on LMS signal box diagrams and a list of leaver numbers and what they controlled, on the SMJ web site.

There are a few items which do not add up.

IE point and point locks 21, 27,

Signals 44, 45, 46

44 down entry to platform (located exit end of platform)

45 down starter to Stratford (right hand line, left hand signal)

46 down starter to Banbury (left hand line , right hand signal)

Point 36 shows a point lock but has no leaver, down entry to platform 2 and 3.

I had two Ratio 713 kits for Christmas, the door hinges are missing from the second door guards van section. Its probably not worth sending them back as all there stock will be the same, because its the tooling that's at fault.

Hi Mike,

Coming from Northamptonshire and knowing a bit about the history of the line, the countryside and Towcester itself all I'll say is this captures the essence of the prototype nicely.   ;)

Look forwards to seeing more of this.

Great modelling!

Cheers,

Mark

PS: Didn't Kettering shed's new Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0's carry out trial running to Stratford in the last days of the LMS?

I'm sure I recollect this story....

Hi Mike,
Great job on Towcester, I particularly like the bridges!

Woodland Scenic produce some rub on transfer lettering, I have used this to good effect on private owners wagons! eBay-us

Beware, some guards vans were built with inward opening doors. Whether  this was the case on Midland suburban stock I don't know but I know I've had to alter this detail on several LNER kits!

Regards Shaun.
