avonside1563
Many of you will have heard of Allen Civil, perhaps through his involvement with preservation or perhaps his roll as an author (or co-author) of many books on industrial railways and locomotives with a particular leaning towards Bagnall's of Stafford. Unfortunately he recently lost his battle with a rare cancer and an obituary to him can be found on the Foxfield Railway website. http://www.foxfieldrailway.co.uk/news_article.php?Allen-Civil-TDAC-69 His sons have all inherited his interest in railways and are keeping his legacy well and truly alive through their involvement with the Foxfield Railway and their own Bagnall locomotive 2842/1946. Also not to be forgotten is the 2ft replica Bagnall wing tank 'Pearl 2' that Allen built, now based at the GVLR and renamed 'Joan'.
