I was hoping to get over to Porthmadog to at least see the loco for that weekend and visit for the special event, but I suspect that may get scrapped anyway now given the announcements last night.  Hard to make out exactly what the policy is for North Wales, or if the 'avoid non-essential travel' also applies to Snowdonia.  I suspect Drakeford would rather just close the border anyway at this point as a precaution for the whole country.  At least I got to see "Welsh Pony" during the summer...

I too suspect he would and being purely selfish, as I live here, I more than half agree with him having seen some of the visitors behaviour. But the reality, of course, is that without border posts, walls or dykes, and with country lanes everywhere that cross the border, plus the economic effect of no visitors to the area, it's just not feasible despite what some of the Welsh Nationalists think. I'll stop at that as I could be construed as straying into politics. Besides which I'm just about to go up to Tan y Bwlch tea rooms for my dinner break!

To stop myself getting political as well, I'd also say how welcome the tea room at Tanybwlch is- they seemed to be doing a good trade from people dropping-in as well as train passengers.  On the days we weren't riding the Ffestiniog, we'd try and call in for a brew when we had chance.  The scones are amazing :)

The Isengard website gives the colour as dark chocolate. Possibly two names for the same colour; not unusual in railway paints. The money we put into those little envelopes on the trains was well spent.
