Is it me or is the nameplate giving me the finger?

Cheers,

Mick

Cheers,

Mick

It's funny you say that Mick as that thought had crossed my mind too when I took the photo.

It was quickly followed by a second thought that I couldn't see how the nameplate has been fixed to the side of 66741.  If they've used industrial strength 'No More Nails' - other adhesives are available - I hope they've used a generous amount as it's a pretty big nameplate.

They have certainly repainted 66705 quickly!

It must have only been at Eastleigh Works no more than two weeks. The average time that a GBRF 66 normally stays their for a repaint is 3-4 weeks sometimes longer. Can't believe it has been done that quick.

It was taken in for the repaint on 21st April and was sighted outside the shed on 7th May. So yes just over two weeks! That's an impressive turnaround.

Went out to Warrington Bank Quay this morning for a hour or so.  Not much running today but saw the HOBC train with three Freightliner 66's with 66597 on the front and 66618 behind it and 66585 on the rear heading towards Crewe from Garstang/Catterall on the WCML.

and 66585 on the rear.

There was also 92023 parked in the bay and a Network Rail "stoneblower" in another bay.

66014 helping out with a spot of track renewal in Talbot Woods this afternoon.

We must have been there at pretty much the same time Peter.  Here's the view from the Glenferness Avenue road bridge with 66014 in the distance.

And looking in the other direction with a Freightliner 66 in view.

Assorted 66s were parked up at Baiter and towards Seldown Bridge.
