A few from Eastleigh on Wednesday evening.

66774 powers through the station.

When 66743 crawled into view, I was expecting quite a lengthy train.1850942367_IMG_25555(1280x853).jpg.5a37ba6ab60f1d5bf36c2c58341ad4e9.jpg

Which it wasn't......!!

66513 leads 66602.

And a few others dotted around the station.

Here are a few celebs from the last week taken in South Derbyshire and Leicestershire...all are Flickr photos (except second from bottom) so click for more info.

Cemex 66780 on a new Immingham to Mantle Lane TC (near Swadlincote) scrap flow, taken with the pole to see the viaduct and bridge over the Trent at Sawley:

GBRf Cemex 66780 - 6M66, Sawley

Freightliner's pinky 66587 passed through Barrow on 6X50 Toton to Crewe trip:

DRS 66126 was hauled back to Toton from Crewe by 66431, reportedly for touch up having only been released recently and not having worked in anger since:

DRS 66126 & 66431 - 0Z66, Barrow

...and not a celeb shed but a celeb driver! Big Jim of this forum gives a wave (and some toots) passing Stenson working the 4L01 diverted Masborough to London 'liner, fully loaded (unusually) with 36 wagons and 55 boxes:

Later that day Freightliner 66607 heads west along the Huddersfield line at Deighton with 6M49, 14.51 Hunslet Tilcon to Tunstead Sidings, empty aggregate hoppers.

Freightliner's 66544 working from Millerhill to Aberdeen with the Fugro RILA survey equipment. This was one of several identical runs over the past few days.

66s are now strangely fairly uncommon on this route. Apart from occasionally replacing a 68 on intermodal workings, they are only seen on engineers trains.

On 2nd May 2021, GBRf 66710 'Phil Packer BRIT' heads through Brighouse in light rain with the Sundays only 6M51, 12.03 Doncaster Down Decoy Yard to Liverpool Biomass Terminal.  This working is usually formed from 6D99, 09.29 Drax Power Station to Doncaster Down Decoy Yard and is often used to rotate locomotives onto the Liverpool Biomass Terminal-Drax Power Station circuit.

One from soggy South Derbyshire today, which wasn’t meant to be a shed, but celebrity 60074 disgraced itself on the 6E02 Bescot to Boston steel, so (also celebrity) HVO-fuelled 66150 was put on top...the ensemble is seen passing Swarkestone some 200 mins late. Link to my Flickr shot:

A delve into the far reaches of my hard drive looking for something else (which I still can't find :banghead:) yielded a few images from several years ago.

How the years pass - some things stay the same; some things change out of all recognition.  All these were taken on 25th July 2006.

EWS 66197 approaching Barnetby - complete with semaphores...

...Freightliner 66616 heading west.

Moving on couple of miles to the east to Melton Ross and EWS 66049 passes light locomotive...

...while EWS 66197 appeared again, now heading west.

After a short walk to the footbridge at New Barnetby Level Crossing, Freightliner 66618 heading east towards the Humber refinery.

A busy hour, yesterday at the former Droylsden Junction Manchester. 66175 Railriders on the Wilton blue boxes and 66770 on the Asbury's to Downlow. Just missed the Biff 66 as I left. (there were also two 60 hauled biomas trains)
