used my daily exercise today to get photos of the snow and ice treatment train at Ifield station Crawley to be surprised to find 66722 and 66729 on it rather than the normal class 73

We’re you on that job mon to wed last week as I was in Tyseley dojng 196s and saw it running round a couple of times

I’ve known you on here for a good 15 years, we sign a lot of the same places, have mutual work colleagues but have never actually met!

Yes Jim I was on it Monday, Friday and Saturday last week. Should be on it this Wednesday coming too. Along with the Landor St - Banbury - Landor St it's one of my favourite jobs, despite being a long shift. Plenty of time to put your feet up and have a brew whilst browsing cars for sale etc!

I like working at Tyseley, some familiar faces down there, one of the lads on the carriage sidings is a driver on the Hydraulics at the Severn Valley.

A reminder of how things used to look with the semaphores at Barnetby and Wrawby Junction on 3rd August 2005, as EWS 66075 approaches working what was probably a train load of empty wagons on the Immingham-Santon (for Scunthorpe steel works) iron ore circuit.

That's not an empty iron ore train, its empty MEAs heading to Immingham to be reloaded with coal for Rugby, Clitheroe or Penyffordd cement works.

Agree, they ran through Lincoln. Here is a loaded one, well except for the wagon on the crossing....

A scruffy looking 66147 heads West over the River Severn at Over village after passing through Gloucester at 12:09 on 25th July 2009, seven minutes before the Severn Bore came rolling up.

Steel for Wales?

66170 passes South through Manors heading into Newcastle at 10:57 on 16th September 2015.

I have no idea about the train, any help would be most appreciated.66170_Manors_10.57_16_September_2015.jpg.28a40428d11b705e8ff0ee3bc600c6e2.jpg

Managed to time my daily exercise today, as Freightliner 66553 passed through Brighouse with a short rake of intermodal flats working as 6M25, 14.01 Hunslet Yard to Crewe Basford Hall, wagon move.

A quick outside tea break from work to catch 66427/66433 on a Carlisle-Hellifield and return icebreaker duty passing Settle.

Dodgy still from a dodgy video. More for record purposes than pretty.

I was going to watch the northbound return, but it caught me out on times and I only saw it from my office window.

Freightliner 66951 passes through Brighouse on 15th February 2021 with 90009 and 90014 'Over the Rainbow' in tow working 0E90, 07.52 Crewe Basford Hall to Leeds Balm Road.

Not exactly a regular occurrence seeing class 90s along the Calder Valley, but becoming more common as this is the second such working this year.

I timed my short daily exercise and separate weekly shopping trip on 18th February 2021 to coincide with a little bit of freight activity through Brighouse.

DB Cargo 66060 with a rake of intermodal flats passing through with 6Z44, 10.29 Wakefield Europort to Warrington Arpley Sidings...

...followed 5 minutes later by 66717 'Good Old Boy' with 6M36 (but running as 4M36), 09.54 Drax Power Station to Liverpool Biomass Terminal.

The afternoons freight produced DB Cargo 66130 with 6E26, 10.40 Knowsley Freight Terminal to Wilton EFW Terminal, loaded binliner...

... followed a few minutes later by a returning 66060 now double-headed with 66056 on 6Z45, 13.55 Arpley Sidings to Wakefield Europort.

I waited a few minutes for 6M38 Arcow Quarry to Bredbury Tilcon, which was headed by GBRf 66786 and running early, but Northern Trains 150218 was determined to photobomb.

Managed to get some pics for first time in a while due to work and lockdown etc as most of you will relate to as well, so made myself go out for some exercise (in not very nice weather) to Clitheroe for the 0554 Gloucester to Clitheroe castle cement mainly because it was 66720 which I haven’t seen before.

arriving at Horrocksford junction

Missed it passing my house as I had to go to the office.

I was hoping to see it on Thursday as I was WFH, but the empties didn't run in.

Now deciding whether to get up early enough to see it go out Monday morning before I go to WFW.

Hoping that its stays on the job for awhile, so I can get it when WFH the week after.

It has been up this way before on a Fidlers Ferry PS to Newbiggin gypsum. A 2012 (!!!) pic - they put the full size loco on the track the wrong way round

692171278_66720(2).jpg.55d956db212a48cad820721e31a4be7f.jpg

It has also been to the cement works from the north on the Mossend service. (And thro Clitheroe on the 6S94 clays)

I would say it would be worth getting up for but the weather is meant to be awful again, like you say it would be nice if it stays on for a while and get some better photos.I must say though the livery is looking a bit faded these days  now but then again I think it has been in this guise since July 2011.
