Great set of photos there and really shows how busy the Calder Valley route has become (again) for freight over the past few years.

The current closure date that I have for the 'box at Hebden Bridge is the weekend of 20th-21st October 2018 although, as you probably know, it will survive in situ as it's a listed structure.  Unfortunately those at Milner Royd Junction, Halifax and Mill Lane Bradford which will close on the same date will not.

66758 on 6A32, 13:34, North Walsham GBRF - Harwich Refinery CRLS SLVS (16:53) - loaded condensate tanks (TEA)

I've included this slightly far back shot because a very short time after I left a vehicle hit the warning light which is visible in front of the loco, causing major service delays !

Passing Beattock Summit yesterday, I spotted a 66 (I think) in black or Dark Grey with orange lettering/numbers. Could only make out ZA....

A I was driving, I only caught a glimpse, but just curious as to what it was.

Time 12 noon, light engine, I assume, in one of the loops.

Any info would be appreciated.

Regards

Ian

Sounds like it could be 66723, it's got Chinook style numbering and a graphic of one one the side, as part of its naming

I have just done a Google Image search on that number. Could well be '723.

It was only a glimpse as I was driving down the M74, so my attention was more on the road.

Thanks for the info, though.

Regards

A busy afternoon at Brighouse on 31st August...

Freightliner 66519 passes through with 4E10, Fiddlers Ferry Power Station to York Holgate Sidings, empty coal hoppers.

About 250 miles from its namesake, GBRf 66739 Bluebell Railway heads west to Manchester with 6M59, Scunthorpe Roxby Gullet to Collyhurst Street.

With a trailing load of stone from North Yorkshire, Freightliner 66602 grinds its way along the Calder Valley with 6Z99, 12.17 Rylstone Tilcon to Bredbury Tilcon.

Looking pretty smart, IMHO, in its pseudo large logo BR livery, GBRf 66789 British Rail 1948-1997 leads 6M59, 14.02 Scunthorpe Roxby Gullet to Collyhurst Street approaching Brighouse on 7th September 2018.

Laying down an epic trail of stone dust, Freightliner 66603 passes through KIrkstall Forge station on the Airedale Line with 6Z99, 11.45 Rylstone Tilcon to Bredbury Tilcon, loaded aggregate hoppers on 10th September 2018.

post-414-0-95978900-1536605249.jpg

Followed a short time later in the opposite direction by GBRf 66716 'Locomotive & Carriage Institution Centenary 1911-2011' with 6D72, 11.32 Hull Dairycoates Tilcon to Rylstone Tilcon, empty aggregate hoppers.  Lucky with the timing of that one as 333016 was departing with 2P47, 13.30 Bradford Forster Square to Leeds.

Both trains travelling at around 45mph, I got lucky with the empty flats and luckier with the timing !
