Class 66 photos

Aside from the PINK, the inclusion of those white stripes result in the ONE logo straying half onto the roofline - which makes the whole 'design' appear ill-conceived (I say 'design' with tongue firmly in cheek...) and at best simply looks clumsy.  Surely a simpler approach would have been plain pink with the logo more centrally positioned.  There truly are some appalling graphic designers around these days, it seems.

I like it - adventurous, I'll chase it down in a couple of weeks when my workload eases off.

Eccles Road

66139 on 6L47, 08:18, Mountsorrel Sdgs - Trowse Yard Redland Siding (12:56) - loaded stone (HOA)

In absolutely appalling - torrential rain - conditions in which only a complete idiot (I take a bow) would be out photographing 66s .. my journey home involved some navigating along roads (yes, navigation, they were flooded !)

A couple from me from a day trip to Leeds on Saturday.

With the downturn in coal traffic, coal trains on the Blyth & Tyne are becoming a rare sight these days.

However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a relatively new traffic flow is being operated by DB Cargo. Even more surprising as EWS/DBC coal trains haven't been seen on the B&T for some years.

12 noon today and EWS/DBC  66057 is at Winning, Northumberland with Tees yard - North Blyth coal empties.

The second photo shows 66057 on the return working (3.00pm) at Newsham.

Is it me, or are sheds getting a bit more attention these days? I suppose being a bit long in the tooth at 20-odd years, they are becoming something of a classic.d years, they are becoming something of a classic.

Its all we have got to look at I suppose.... Dont think they could be called a classic but they have got a little more character after 20 years.;)

The next day the loco works back to Walsham (I didn't photograph this as I was decorating) and then brings the tanks South

Cheers,
