66013 on the Acton T.C. To Newhaven Day Aggregates, 06:41 Thursday 26th March at Cooksbridge on the Down working. A frosty morning, this is just before the start of the works to extend the UP platform 1 to take 8 car trains. This will hopefully ease road traffic congestion through Cooksbridge during the off peak and allow 8 car trains to clear the full barrier crossing. This might stop the ‘rat running’ around the next crossing (country side) at Hamsey AHBC.

GBRf 66704 'Colchester Power Signalbox' heads east at Deighton on 25th May 2020 with 6E09, 07.11 Liverpool Biomass Terminal to Drax Power Station.

Loaded biomass trains are usually routed on the Calder Valley line via Hebden Bridge and workings along the Standedge Tunnel route through Huddersfield during daylight hours are an unusual occurrence.  This is due to the timetabled frequency of TransPennine Express services and the consequent effect on pathing availability.  During the current reduced frequency of passenger train service however GBRf has run several loaded biomass trains via the Standedge Tunnel, with 6E09 being one of the regulars.

If/when the Trans Pennine Route Upgrade happens current plans are for this part of the route to be quadrupled (or re-quadrupled depending how far back in history you want to go).

Nice to see you and your brill' pics' back again 4630.:)

Thanks Owd Bob.

I'd not picked up the camera to point it a train for almost 2 months.

I live several miles and equidistant from both the Calder Valley and Standedge lines, and even with reasonable eyesight my conscience prevented me from travelling to photograph anything on rails!  Which is a pity as there have been a few interesting workings/locomotives about, but hey ho it's not important compared with keeping safe.
