Yes, I know what you mean. We thought by removing the old tracks we would have loads of room for Goathland village but nope.

 

Somehow, no matter how much space one has, your ideas are always 10 times bigger :(

Hi Kal & Jaz, the main problem with trying to expand space is that the main framework of the layout will be in the way of the stream. Dag nam it. :(

If there is just a single cross over, could you disguise it with trees? The pictures all seem to show there is plenty on the waters edge.

Took possession of a cheap Hornby decoder so I can convert the turntable to DCC.   :D

Excellent idea - I did the same thing for my TT, only was a cheap Bachmann decoder. Fits the bill really well. Even though speed control "sucked" in the loco it was in, with the added weight and resistance of the TT, it works perfectly. I"m eyeballing the line-up for now, doing anything "electronic" seems overkill and may take way too much time to implement :)
