A mod I've not seen on a 56 since the blue livery days, because they were deemed too loud!

This thread has brought back some happy memories from my younger days when weekends were free. 

Me and a couple of mate would pick a location,get in the car and hope for the best (we where never disapointed).

Retford, June 1983, doing what they were designed for, power station coal.

I do recall being impressed by the driving skills as the loaded trains came through the dip under the ECML - must be a tricky location to avoid snatching at the couplings. Any drivers care to comment?

56s heading to the old wagon works for storage, I thnk they were there for a year or so.

 

47768 heads 0P12, 15:55 Crewe - Chester Wagon works with 56109, 56064, 56043 & 56036 in tow
