Jack374
Hmm I’ve not noticed his thread before...was just thinking here needs to be a class 56 photo thread and there is...doh! A couple of recent shots from Lincolnshire and Derbyshire. Links from Flickr so click for more info. 6E32 Ribble tanks at New Barnetby last week: And the test run of 56091 today, which was curtailed at Alfreton for an unknown reason... Thanks, Jack.

RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted June 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2021 Further to my reports of a class 60 on the loaded stone for Brandon (for Lakenheath) with 20s on the return empties this week brought another Brucie Bonus to the area - Colas 56s Various rumours surround the why but DCR used 56s to power the Chaddesden - Brandon loaded stone Brandon 09/06/2021 (Wednesday) 56105 and 56049, Robin of Templecombe 1938-2013, on 6Z28, 07:10, Chaddesden Sdgs - Brandon Down Sidings (15:57) - loaded stone (24 JNA) The JNAs were split into two rakes of 12 for unloading and shunted into the sidings, the locos then stabled overnight outside of the unloading area. Unloading - the 56s are positioned behind the stone pile between the two grabs. Empties day to follow.
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted June 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2021 (edited) Thursday 10 June saw the empties depart however it had been decided that the 56s would split and one would go to Doncaster and one would take the empties to Chaddesden ... Brandon 10/06/2021 (Thursday) 56049 and 56105 draw forward the wagons to form 6Z29, 12:15, Brandon Down Goods Loop - Chaddesden Sdgs (16:01) - empty stone (24 JNA) Start up running along the loop locos off and running round - via Ely 56049, Robin of Templecombe 1938-2013, and 56105 on 0Z30, 10:52, Brandon Down Goods Loop - Brandon Down Goods Loop (11:52) - light engines running round via Ely I've found out why they have to run via Ely - ie what the fault with the GPLS is, it won't clear when vehicles are in the loop and NR won't allow talking passed the signal at danger - can't believe that wasn't picked up at design time - the signal visible in the grass above ^ ^ (controlling sidings -> loop moves) has the same issue but drivers are permitted to be talked passed this one, no choice really. It's a data issue for the SSI and in theory is an easy fix - but in practice probably expensive and require a lot of testing. Back from their visit to the Ship of the Fens Now the fun commenced as the loco wanted for the train. 56049. was the rear loco in the above photo. The locos ran onto the loop and up to the wagons, then reversed into the siding, using one of the sidings. They were then split and 56105 ran out and back into the second siding. 56049 then dropped onto the wagons Once 56049 was coupled 56105 ran into the loop and up to 56049 + train 56105 was then free to depart 56105 on 0Z31, 12:04, Brandon Down Goods Loop - Doncaster D.C.E SDGS. (15:43) - light engine and 56049 on 6Z29, 12:15, Brandon Down Goods Loop - Chaddesden Sdgs (16:01) - empty stone (24 JNA) 56049, Robin of Templecombe 1938-2013, on 6Z29, 12:15, Brandon Down Goods Loop - Chaddesden Sdgs (16:01) - empty stone (24 JNA) Edited June 11, 2021 by beast66606 16

Classsix T
I look forward to more Grids named after Anglia TV productions, 'Bygones' would be particularly apt. I don't know if the bodyside is long enough to accommodate 'Sale of the Century with Nicholas Parsons' though. C6T.
