56312, at the start of it's journey today, dragging Tornado + support coach from Barrow Hill to Didcot.

Is it wrong that I was more pleased to see the Grid than the Kettle! :mosking:

Cheers,

Phil.

Enough of the windowless scrappers...........

Taken yesterday using my "point & click" Sony DSC-W5 after a complete battery failure on my main camera.

Doing what they were built for, passing Chipping Sodbury in appalling weather with the (thankfully) very late running 11:00 Tilbury - Llanwern steel coil are 56078 & 56113.

56312 (again!!) dragging something else, 45133.

Did hear it had D4 & a class 25 in tow at various times today?

Cheers,

Phil.

P.S.

The OCA-RRA-FZA-RRA rake in the foreground would make an interesting model.

During the miners strike in the mid 80's,Thornaby allocated pairs of 56 (instead of the usual pairs of 37's) to the Lacken-Workington steel trains, some of these 56 where still being run in and some had just come out of works(you could still smell the wet paint!!)
