Another one not long for this world, former BR 20035/CFD 2001 stands outside the shed at Toddington, in October 2016. This one is now hairpins and razor blades.

It's ironic seeing two of them next to a 58 as I've always wondered if it was inspired by the Class 20 body shape.

I don't recall ever seeing a picture before of two 20s that weren't nose to nose

What aroused my interest in this picture was the wagon with hazard stripes in the bay platform. Was it a match truck for the shunter I wonder?

Perfect modelling train!

Correct marshalling too.  Three fitted wagons behind the "blowthrough" brakevan meant it could run class 6 fully fitted.

Could it be a reach wagon? I would have expected it to be coupled up if it was a match truck.

It could be, but it's just that the hazard stripes suggested to me that it was semi-permanently attached to the shunter.

This was a positioning move for the pair ahead of tomorrows Pathfinder Railtours 'The DRS Class 20 Farewell'.

Subject to availability, the rail tour might see the use of three DRS class 20s.  20303 is already at York.

Anyone interested in the timings for the rail tour;

1Z49 - Bristol TM to Leeds The class 20s take over at York for the journey to Leeds via Harrogate.

5Z49 - Leeds to Neville Hill T&RSMD ECS move

5Z50 - Neville Hill T&RSMD to Leeds ECS move

1Z50 - Leeds to Bristol TM The class 20s work as far as Crewe.

The DRS Class 20 Farewell at Brightside today, 12 mins late at 1625:

Not too bad for so late in the day in January, ISO 800, f1.8, and taking a chance at 1/320 sec. 3 mins after the 1622 sunset!

Had a fun day out yesterday following the DRS 20's. Some strong departures, with 13 on that was a bit of a load !

Started with the 57's sounding fine at Derby, followed them to York, Leeds (Took a spin past the 19 pacers at Gascoigne wood and the LNER/now EMR branded HSTs at NL).

Video here

a few pictures my 9 year old daughter took here.. I'm proud of her efforts !

Heres them blasting up from Starbeck to Harrogate on Saturday, sounded great.

And a couple of them passing through Hornbeam Park just before Crimple Viaduct.
