This caught me on the hop a little whilst out shopping today. I heard the distinctive sound of the engine and just managed to catch 20901 at the rear of some sort of recording train (listed as the 562K 12:50 Littlehampton to Tonbridge). Sadly I missed the front loco...

Just caught up with this thread.

It looks like the SITT - snow & Ice treatment train.

Cheers,

Mick

Both 901 and 905 have had the tripcocks removed, and the sanding gear reinstated, as well as snowploughs fitted, before their recent runs with the SITT.

Cheers,

Phil.

Yep I agree - the orange ones...................

Mick

While doing the 37's on the coast I spotted that 6C53 06:30 Crewe to Sellafield was running early and was following 2C41 08:45 Barrow - Carlisle up the coast so bailed off 37409 at Sellafield to grab some shots.

They then power out pushing the flask.

Some Scottish 20s in the 80s

20191 at the front of a long row of 20s at Polmadie, 11th September 1982.

In the summer of that year, 20191 had spent time on the West Highland line, working Fort William - Mallaig passenger trains including the 'mixed' which conveyed TTA tank wagons.

20314 and 20311 arrived at the Mid Norfolk Railway last night for this weekend's diesel gala. The pair of orange choppers are seen at Wymondham station waiting to join the MNR section towards Wymondham Abbey station.

There was a train from Crewe to Workington docks with low level  waste, today, which arrived from the south with 20305-308,these were suppose to go back to Sellafield, in top & tail mode, but due to 305 running out of fuel (what away to run a railway) 308 was put on the front and headed long bonnet first to Carlisle, here's a picture of them leaving Workington docks.

Guest B Exam

The pair of 20's that were on show at yesterdays DRS open day.

Not sure how long 303 has carried the name?

Cheers,

Phil.

20303 has carried the name for about a week. It has taken the name from withdrawn 20301.

Early 1970s: After the first run of the HST prototype, the engineers had two suggestions - give it more power, and make it more pointy:

OK, you got me, it's 2016, and it's being returned from open day/event duties at Bo'ness to the GCR at Hotchley Hill.

Sorry about the distracting caravan.

On a trip to Oxford to try out my new Praktica camera (bought from Argos) in the early 80s, I was very surprised to see a pair of 20s (20013 & 20080) heading north on a train of empty cartics. They appeared whilst I was photographing 50013 on a Paddington train on the up platform so I hurried over to the down platform and got a couple of shots during the brief stop they made on the down through road. Although they weren't unknown at Oxford (they sometimes turned up on the morning Speedlink from Bescot), they were very unusual just up the road in my home town of Reading.

Well here is my contribution, all taken at Coalville in July 1980. I was 2nd man here so was on these regularly. First 3 shots are of 20168/199 passing 08465 and the Marcroft works on the way to "top end" Ellistown pit exchange siding. Photos taken from the office/messroom steps.

Next is 20067 stabled on the "wallside" this was the siding next to the goods shed and the siding most in view from the maingate. I have no record of what 067 is paired with sadly.
