Here is how I see my of my 67's these days....on Thunderbird duties

They see such little use there is a regular light engine move from Newcastle to Northallerton round trip, via the Stannington freight only line.....to recharge the batteries.

Ploughing through my photos I also found these... (sorry, not the best quality pictures!)

At Bristol Temple Meads on 14th September 2009, I saw 67016 on the front of a four carriage formation with 67001 on the rear

These photos show 67007 when it sneaked up on me at Newark North Gate on 3rd April 2017.  What may be of use to modellers... The flag above the black number on one end...

and the white number on the other end with no flag

07.12.04. 67003 becomes the first 67 to visit St. Leonards

Unfortunately the other end 67s number escapes me for now

67003 bringing up the rear on the Serco train on its departure. The 67s only briefly became visitors along the coast, when their services were required elsewhere the 47/37/73s took over.

DB already have the VSOE contract?

Ooooh thought after I typed, were you hinting at Northern Belle?

Jo

There are reports that the Northern Belle is changing to WCRC, but it sounds more complicated than just a simple change of operator.

Cheers,

Mick

DBC 67015 and 67028 approach the remains of Healey Mills yard on 3rd July 2018 with 5Z67, 10.51 Doncaster Belmont Down Yard to Healey Mills SS.

The sidings have been used several times over the past couple of years to host training exercises for the emergency services.  I presume 5Z67 is for another exercise.  Either that, or DB Cargo has decided to play a game of 'Where's my train gone?' and lose a couple of 67s and ropey old coaches for a couple of days.

Over the past couple of years the remains of the diesel depot has been demolished; the footbridge giving staff access was removed (it had been severed at both ends for several years) and all of the tall yard lighting masts have been taken down.

The power box at the far end of the site is still standing I believe, but closed earlier this year when signalling was re-controlled from York ROC.

There are still a couple of TEA tank wagons in there somewhere though I think !

Nature continues to reclaim the site.
