While browsing the Great Eastern Railway Society site, I found that it is possible to buy the Great Eastern Railway Magazine from 1911-1926 on CD Rom for £15 (non-members price)

 

I sent off for this last Thursday, and to my amazement it arrived on Saturday, a remarkably quick service by the Society officer concerned and the Royal Mail. I have so far skimmed through as far as 1913, and can only say it is incredible value for money, and full of interest, even to someone whose first love is not the old GE. It would be very difficult to get a book this interesting for such a modest price.

 

So - heartily recommended to anyone with an interest in the pre-group scene, and congratulations to the GERS for their enterprise. Perhaps one day the GCRS will get around to doing something similar, but I ain't holding my breath...
