Question's answer's, real pictures of Dover Priory, most welcome.

Welcome to my first ever, attempt at building a model railway,in my internal garage.

I had no knowledge or skill and started 18 months ago, track laying, a couple of years after 2/3's of the b/boards,were made.

I start the thread off by giving you a link to, Kent Rail, a Website,by David Glasspool, giving you a background to Dover Priory.

After, months of trying to get a fair representation,of the station and the area, I became disillusioned, witproprietary items,

available, for sale from a variety of manufactures.

So the only way forward ,was to kit bash, scratchbuild.

Please be aware,of my limited skill,in the subsequent pics...........the more you do,the better you should get at it..........allegedly.......... :drag:

Auto SlideShow of DP.platform 1. My first ever scratch-build.......probably,not as you would do it...........

The cutting,just south,of DP, section shut down,for tree felling,one week-end,couple of year's back,now.

Very difficult to get a shot of this area.

J'ai le regret de vous informer que, Bonnie Tyler nonobstant, Dover est proche de la France que Londres, Monsieur Treacy ...   :jester:

dt

another great start, with such a specific background scene, and the fine detailed modelling of the greenery (yet to be published here) as well as the buildings (photoshopping from LF&T helping capture the moment) and it's present day features you have a wonderful snapshot captured in time, which in twenty years or so will be a fantastic record of the past. Capturing it here in RMweb will mean that it should stand the testament of time.

Plus if the history buffs continue to add the level of details they are starting to post to your other threads, it will also have the human memories associated with it. In time your work, you own memories, and other peoples will leave it rich in detail.

Plus you have the added advantage of living near the site of your three projects, and taking regular walks and snapshots allowing you to fine tune. Considering how long you have been at this, the level of work is wonderful. With such a specific and intricate look at this and with the memories from people who worked around Dover, perhaps you should consider using this information in time to do a book,  opening this to a wider audience. Even antecdotes about your local association and your work on the ferries and before will leave a wonderful insight for future generations.

Anyway a good start to the modelling threads, shall follow with interest.
