This morning, I intend to cut, the other section's of Celotex, past the roundabout,at their estimated height's.

Before I go up to the Shakespeare Cliff rail site.

Here are two bird's eye view's of the profile's, this is the highest definition I can achieve, without it pixalting

After a bit of thought (rarely happens that), I have decided, the sheets of Celotex,

Are to be removed.

Using the sheets,,as they were, below,

Will not give me the curvature, nor the depth of cut or stability, so,

Cut, stack, rack and glue is now the choice,it should give me more depth and strength, with stability.

No telling if sink holes appear though.

Going to be messy, but I think it'll look better.

The later stages, Freebs.

When cutting the first blocks, do not use, a toothed blade.

Use,an inflexible broad blade knife.

Toothed blade, lots of mess.

Broad blade very little.

Think you've made the right decision with the Celotex, David. I think it will be a lot more robust the way it is now. Freebs has done an excellent job on those platforms. They look superb.

Cheers

Marcus

Thanks for your support Marcus.

I have,tomorrow, a large sheet of Celotex,to be delivered.

100.mm thickness.

I will cut it into blocks, 1200 mm lengths.

Build it,like a brick wall, glue it.

Cut it vertically into manageable sections, for easy removal.

Use 2mm plywood, for glued backing to each section.

Yes,I agree, Freebs has done an outstanding job of platform 1.

Considering we live about 200 miles apart, I hope my measurements were correct and it fits,my original

Platform base, otherwise,am into making another one.

Once Feebs has finished and it is in place, I can then, work from the back scene,to the front of the layout, with a view

To completing the DP section, although,I have a couple of minor issues with electrickery, through DP.

Noteably 2 minor dead spots on the dcc friendly Shaun O' Hara scissors xing.

Am sure, this is a wheel pickup contact problem,as some locos, have no problem.

I will then look at assembling the foot over bridge and look at a reconstruction of platform 2 uprights and canopy.

Shakespeare Tunnel Model.

Last night I posted a some what "distant", freshly painted, tunnel portal.

Now it has had 24 hour's to dry.

This is a uniform base colour,  next Monday night, a more definitive, brick work colour, should be achieved, when Lofty put's his squint on.

There's a new thread 'Railway Modelling as Art'. These three photos ought definitely to be posted on that thread.

The illusion is mind blowing once the whole Liliput DP platform 1  is set against the FULL SIZE doorstep.

Bravo! Freebs
